Junior Deacon
Junior Deacons are officers of the lodge, up from mere members. Their task is guarding the inside of the lodge entrance, keeping tabs on new visitors, and keeping the outer door guards in line with a series of cryptic knocks. The Freemen brotherhood takes the best and brightest men of society and carves them into the leaders of tomorrow, using a series of secret rituals and tests of will, called Degrees. The Junior Deacon has the rights to administer the First Degree to new members. Whether this literally involves first degree burns is unkown to the public.
The Junior Deacon's jewel is the square and compass with a moon in the center. Such symbols can be found on many buildings in the Federal Capitol District, and some say even the streets themselves form the shapes of their symbols, suggesting a high Freemen influence in the creation of that city.
